Allow yourself to be informed of what you do not know

posted on 21 December 2011

There are so many activities you may choose to carry out with your computer and still get to enjoy much more services. This does not mean that you can perform anything in your computer program and expect it to work. I have been technically involved in machinery problems because of using my IQ levels to try and come up with my own genius programs, and to no avail. Now I was working on how to connect vb with access database when I realize that there are different visual basic percentages which you have to select from. You can also create a data source for your database and then connect it to vb and start operating on a visual basis. The most commonly used vb is that of 6.0 which is meant for tutorials but can also be downloaded as a net on its own. It is good to find out these things, but you should take precautions so you do not end up spoiling your machine as well as the vb you chose to use simply because you were not careful.

Problem starcraft 2 has on graphic cards

posted on 13 November 2011

I do not like my brothers using my computer. The last time they used it they played to starcraft 2 games and left my computer with a lot of problems that were not initially there before. The computer was really slow and whenever I would try to play a video it would take a long time to load the pictures and that was not amusing at all. So I asked a friend of mine who was and still is a technician to check it out for me. He said that the graphic card was fried but the starcraft 2 overheating bug. This made me really annoyed because I had to replace the graphic card, expenses I had not even planned for. They came back to me asking me to let them use my computer after I replaced the graphic card reader and I refused even if they told me that the starcraft 2 overheating bug fixed. I knew that they would mess it again and I could not take any chances even if they were very persuasive.

What is common sense to technician is not so for other people

There are some technicians who are very harsh to some of their customers. The other day I had gone to pick my sisters computer that had to be formatted and a whole of other things had to be done to it too. There was this lady who had just gotten a gyration wireless keyboard. I have heard of those key boards. There are very small and they can fit in any bad because they are not bulky in nature and neither are they bulky as people may expect them to be. This lady was having a problem when it came to the gyration wireless keyboard sync to the computer. The technician looked at her laptop and opened a few folders and they were all in good shape. He then looked at the keyboard to see if it was faulty but it was not. So he asked her how she expected the sync to be complete if she did not enable the connection on the computer. He then added that was just common sense and the lady felt really insulted.

Wikipedia: The Beautiful Incorporation of Hyperlinked Endnotes and Hot-Keyed Search Boxes

posted on 17 February 2011

Out of all the millions of websites in the great forest that is the World Wide Web - from e-commerce websites to blogs - Wikipedia has to be my favorite amongst them. Wikipedia’s design is fairly straightforward, but it is a remarkably efficient structure for conveying encyclopedic information. One critical aspect is the use of internal links connecting sourced statements with their bibliographic references – endnotes at the bottom of the page. By keeping all this information on the same page, a user can simply click on the footnote reference mid-article and immediately be taken to the bibliography, where the relevant reference is helpfully highlighted. After that, one needs only to hit the backspace key to return to their spot earlier in the article – no navigation required. Furthermore, unlike almost every search box I’ve ever seen, users can simply hit ALT+Shift+F, and then they can immediately begin typing in the search box. This is extremely efficient for those of us who are fond of using keyboard shortcuts to increase our speed. And when you’re racing through Wikipedia assimilating information with a passion, this is a great function to speed-up the process.
