Even websites have the need of marketing

I have been conducting various searches on the internet. What i have realized so far is the fact that some web pages keep coming up regardless of the search topic that i have used. I began to wonder why and said that i would like my computer lecturer during the next class. I did so. The lecturer explained to me and the class of various ways that websites use so that they appear on most internet searches. They use search engine optimisation. This is usually a marketing gimmick. I did not know that websites have to market themselves too. The lecturer simply explained to us that websites are like stores or products. unless you create awareness about them no one will visit or use them He said like soft drinks, they are so many websites. These soft drinks companies use every possible space to advertise themselves. That is why they are adverts on newspapers, radio, television and on the outdoors as well. Its the same for websites, they make sure they are visible everywhere. They do this by offering so many things such that when you search as a user you are led to them. This is why some websites appear more than others.
