Safety Boots a Must When Trimming My Trees

I have some fairly hefty trees in my large garden. Every autumn I have to trim some of the branches back to pre-empt any of them coming down in high winds. It's amazing how heavy a fairly thin looking branch can be - looks are very deceiving! So I always ensure I have a sturdy pair of safety boots on when lugging these branches from the ground to my skip, as well as ensuring I wear a pair of thick gloves too.
I don't even do the branch cutting - I leave that to a tree surgeon, but I always feel I should be part of the process (I love my garden) so I'm always there to clean up the debris below.
So take my advice - don't mess with trees unless you're qualified to! But beware if you have a large tree - it may need trimming in order to avoid damage from high winds.
